I love knights. I love looking at legitimate medieval armor and crests and all that good stuff, and I also really enjoy looking at what people do with the base concept in things like fantasy settings. So much fun.

I’ve been thinking about book stuff recently, especially adapting armor to different cultures and species and such. It’s been really interesting to think about and kind of work on when I have spare time (Who am I kidding? What’s spare time?!). I’m looking forward to researching some different armor and warrior-types beyond the few that I sort of know stuff about. Although it’s really hard to let go of regular knights in some cases πŸ˜‰ It just doesn’t fit certain kinds of people, though, and it’d be better, culturally speaking, to move away from that.

Also, it really lends to the whole world-building thing! It’s much more interesting and vivid (And realistic, hah πŸ˜› ). I think that for a long time I kind of brushed ironing out cultures to the side and focused on the main storyline. The problem arises when your characters go somewhere with a paper-thin background…not so great πŸ˜›

I’ll get there someday! In the meantime, I’ll enjoy my learning πŸ™‚

Talk to you soon,
